Erin O’Donnell Dotzler: Executive Director
The American Academy of Periodontology, the professional membership organization representing nearly 8,000 periodontists worldwide, is pleased to announce the selection of Erin O’Donnell Dotzler as their Executive Director.
Ms. O’Donnell Dotzler began her tenure at the AAP in 2006 as the Director of Public, Practice, and Scientific Affairs. In this capacity, she spearheaded the AAP’s scientific agenda, including coordinating the groundbreaking 2008 Workshop on Inflammation and the 2014 Workshop on Regeneration. Additionally, she implemented public and professional outreach programs and cultivated relationships with health care agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
In 2014, Ms. O’Donnell Dotzler was elevated to Associate Executive Director of Education, Scientific Affairs, Policy, and Meetings. As Associate Executive Director, she fostered positive working relationships with corporate partners, expanded the AAP’s continuing education offerings, and strengthened organizational ties with the international periodontal community.
Ms. O’Donnell Dotzler holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University. Before joining the AAP, she served in the Healthcare Consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and as Chief Operating Officer for the Health Care Compliance Association.
