Joanne McGeoch: Executive Director
Wilmington, DE – Joanne McGeoch has been selected as Executive Director of the Delaware Center for Horticulture (DCH). She brings to this role more than two decades of nonprofit leadership experience in philanthropy and fundraising, most recently as Vice President for Philanthropy at Delaware Community Foundation and as Interim Executive Director at the Delaware Nature Society.
McGeoch’s commitment to sustainable landscapes and community engagement through a connection to nature and her passion for building more resilient communities will enhance DCH’s efforts to expand its programming and community engagement within Wilmington and throughout the state.
As DCH’s Executive Director, she will oversee operations, strategic planning, program development, fundraising and community outreach, and will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and stakeholders to build on DCH's foundation of connecting communities with the power of plants.
Since 1977, the Delaware Center for Horticulture has inspired individuals and communities through the power of plants to create a healthier and greener Delaware for all residents. Its work includes creating and maintaining the first Urban Farm in the city of Wilmington, establishing the Branches to Chances® Return to Work Program, beautifying public landscapes, planting, and advising on the urban placement of trees, and hosting educational programs and community events.
