Nalani McCutcheon: Executive Director
St. Paul, MN –Nalani McCutcheon has been promoted to Executive Director of Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa (CCMI). She brings over 20 years of experience leading and managing nonprofit organizations, focusing on youth development, environmental education, and community building. Most recently, she has served as the Interim Executive Director of CCMI, a role that aligns with her lifelong passion for environmental stewardship and empowering emerging leaders.
Before joining CCMI, McCutcheon served as the Founding Executive Director of Cannon River STEM School, developing a K-8 public charter school that emphasizes place-based, project-based, and inquiry-based learning. She also served as the Executive Director of River Bend Nature Center in Faribault, MN, where she led efforts to expand educational and recreational programs, revitalize trails, and enhance the center’s facilities.
She has held other leadership roles, including Associate Director of Charter School Authorizing at Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center and as Senior Director for the Northfield Healthy Community Initiative. She has also contributed to various nonprofit boards and committees, working on conservation, healthcare, social justice and historical preservation efforts.
Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa (CCMI), a nonprofit organization and AmeriCorps grantee, engages hundreds of people each year in programs and initiatives that improve access to outdoor recreation, restore natural habitat, protect waterways, and respond to developments both in climate change and in clean energy. CCMI offers a wide range of year-long and seasonal opportunities for those interested in a meaningful service experience, leadership development, and environmental stewardship.
