Shadi Kanaan: Executive Director
San Jose, CA — Shadi Kanaan has been named Executive Director of the Santa Clara County Dental Society, an organization that represents nearly 1,800 dentists practicing in Santa Clara County.
Most recently, Kanaan was Assistant Director of Organizational Effectiveness, Business Development and Project Management with the California Primary Care Association (CPCA), where he was responsible for developing, promoting, and maintaining long-term partnerships and business relationships to create sustainability and diversify CPCA’s revenue stream. In this role, he also analyzed and evaluated programs, partnerships, and services to inform organizational goals and long-term strategies, in addition to supporting executive leaders in planning and directing organizational change.
Previously, he was Division Lead/Project Manager/Residency Program Coordinator with the Department of Surgery and Internal Medicine at UC Davis.
The Santa Clara County Dental Society (SCCDS) represents nearly 1,800 dentists practicing in Santa Clara County, with a population of over 2,000,000 in the heart of Silicon Valley. It is a component organization of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the California Dental Association (CDA); and all members are required to belong to all three. As one of the largest and most active components in the state, SCCDS represents just under 80% of the dentists licensed in Santa Clara County and enjoys a strong membership renewal rate each year. SCCDS is the fourth largest of the 32 component organizations of the CDA, which is the largest state association of dentists in the US with more than 27,000 members.
