Museum leader Marcus Harshaw has joined Wings Over the Rockies (Wings) Air & Space Museum as President and CEO.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Harshaw formerly served as Associate Museum Director for Experiences at Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh where he oversaw strategic development and operational direction for Museum and STEM outreach programs that engaged over 500,000 guests annually. He has also served as Vice President of Learning & Facilities at Kaleideum, an innovative and dynamic experiential learning museum in Winston-Salem, NC.
As Wings’ new President and CEO, Harshaw will focus on enhancing visitor experiences, expanding educational programs, strengthening community impact, and driving innovation at both the Air & Space Museum and the Exploration of Flight campus at Centennial Airport.
Wings Over the Rockies™ (Wings), Colorado’s official Air and Space Museum, is committed to educating, inspiring and exciting all people about aviation and space endeavors of the past, present and future. Located in Denver’s historic Lowry neighborhood, the Museum features more than 97,000 square feet of world-class historical and educational exhibits. In addition to more than 80 impressive aircraft and spacecraft, visitors discover exciting personalities, stories, and events about every aspect of aviation and space exploration. Exploration of Flight, located at Centennial Airport, features 18,000 square feet of interactive experiences, aviation-focused events and actual flying aircraft.
